The (Hong) Kong Girls / london

A triple-bill of three Hong Kong female dancer-choreographers, PK WONG, Alice MA and Justyne LI, inspired by a colloquial expression “Kong Girl” used in Hong Kong. "Kong Girl" was a negative label referring a specific type of young woman who is perceived to be materialistic, self-centered, and overly focused on her appearance, status, and consumerism in Hong Kong. With social changes for the past decade, "Kong Girl" has turned into a positive tag. Three female choreographers take totally different approaches to tell their stories and to show their identity of being a "Kong Girl" .
